UPDATE: MOST ADOC FACILITIES BACK TO NORMAL OPERATIONS

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The situation with inmate work stoppages at the Alabama Department of Corrections (ADOC) continues to improve across the state. All female facilities continue to experience normal operations and most male facilities have returned to normal operations, including regular meal service and weekend visitation.

There are only two male facilities where complete work stoppages continue. Three other facilities have partial work stoppages. Those three are starting to return to normal operations. However, the impact on staff resources necessitates that visitation be cancelled this weekend (October 15-16, 2022) at all five facilities until normal operations can be restored. Inmates at these facilities have been notified and encouraged to notify any visitors.
