MPD OFFICERS RECEIVE COMMENDATION FOR SERVICE TO ADOC
MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Three officers of the Montgomery Police Department (MPD) were awarded with certificates of commendation for their service to the Alabama Department of Corrections (ADOC). On Saturday, September 17, 2022, the ADOC requested assistance from the MPD in locating and arresting escaped inmate Conway Smith. He had escaped earlier that same day from the Frank Lee Community Work Center. Officer Delan Jackson, Sergeant Bradley Caulfield, and Officer Adrian Hardy located and arrested inmate Smith without incident.
Following his arrest, ADOC personnel took custody of inmate Smith and transported him to Kilby Correctional Facility.
ADOC Deputy Commissioner Dion Robinson presented the awards to Jackson, Caufield, and Hardy. He said, “On behalf of ADOC Commissioner John Hamm, we greatly appreciate your assistance and quick response in capturing escaped inmate Smith.”
MPD Chief Darryl Albert remarked, “It means a lot that the ADOC came out to thank these officers for their assistance. This is what they do every day, but the recognition is appreciated.”
