ADOC Host Mock Manhunt Exercise

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Alabama Department of Corrections (ADOC), in partnership with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) and the Macon County Sheriff’s Office, will conduct a Mock Manhunt Exercise on Thursday, September 22, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. The exercise will take place at the Macon County Road and Bridge located at 3636 Alabama Highway 199 in Tuskegee, Ala.
Participants will include:
• ADOC Law Enforcement Services Division including the K9 Unit
• ALEA Aviation, SWAT, Highway Patrol, and State Bureau of Investigation
• United States Marshals Service - Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force
• Macon County Sheriff’s Office
The goal of this training exercise is to coordinate state and local law enforcement communications into a seamless process. These communications are critical for staging the Incident Command, coordinating responding personnel to contain a perimeter, and ultimately apprehending the suspect(s). These same communications are used when searching for missing persons.
This will be an outdoor event conducted without live ammunition or firearms. Safety checks will be conducted beforehand to ensure the safety of all participants.
