ADOC EMPLOYEE BUSTED FOR CONTRABAND

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – On February 24, 2025, an Alabama Department of Corrections (ADOC) K-9 officer uncovered an attempt to introduce contraband at Ventress Correctional Facility.
During a routine screening of employees, contraband was discovered in a food container belonging to Correctional Security Guard Arianna Slater. The evidence was secured, Slater was detained and interviewed, and a search of her vehicle was conducted. The following items of contraband were recovered:
Approximately 13 grams of marijuana
Approximately 46 grams of fentanyl
Cell phones, charging blocks, and USB cords
Slater was arrested, transported to the Barbour County Jail, and charged with Promoting Prison Contraband 2nd, Possession of Marijuana 1st, and Trafficking.
The LESD investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be pending.
