Minimum-In: Work assignments for Minimum-In inmates must be on-property at a minimum, medium or close security facility and may be supervised
by non-security personnel with the express approval of the Warden/designee.
Minimum-Out: Minimum-Out inmates can be assigned to off-property work details without the direct supervision of correctional officers. Minimum-Out inmates will
generally be assigned to Community Work Centers (CWC), with higher security facilities only maintaining a small number for job assignments requiring minimal supervision.
Minimum-Community (Min-Comm): Inmates in this custody are allowed gainful employment in the community on a full-time basis and will be supervised in community based facilities when not working.
Medium:(security level four) correctional facilities are designed for housing inmates who have demonstrated less severe behavioral problems. Inmates are considered to be suitable for participation in formalized institutional treatment programs, work assignments, or other activities within the confines of an institution.

Ventress Correctional Facility opened in August 1990 and is located in Clayton, AL. Ventress has a primary mission of providing alcohol and drug treatment to ADOC’s inmate population. The facility offers an eight-week SAP (substance abuse program) and a six-month Crime Bill drug treatment program.
Ventress also offers academic and vocational programs provided by Sparks Technical College. Additionally, Ventress provides community services to localized city, county and state agencies. Ventress is classified as a medium custody correctional facility.
