Minimum-In: Work assignments for Minimum-In inmates must be on-property at a minimum, medium or close security facility and may be supervised
by non-security personnel with the express approval of the Warden/designee.
Minimum-Out: Minimum-Out inmates can be assigned to off-property work details without the direct supervision of correctional officers. Minimum-Out inmates will
generally be assigned to Community Work Centers (CWC), with higher security facilities only maintaining a small number for job assignments requiring minimal supervision.
Minimum-Community (Min-Comm): Inmates in this custody are allowed gainful employment in the community on a full-time basis and will be supervised in community based facilities when not working.
Medium:(security level four) correctional facilities are designed for housing inmates who have demonstrated less severe behavioral problems. Inmates are considered to be suitable for participation in formalized institutional treatment programs, work assignments, or other activities within the confines of an institution.

North Alabama Community Based Facility and Community Work Center opened in May 1981 and is located on 11 acres in Decatur, AL on Highway 20. Inmates participate in work release programs in Morgan, Limestone and Madison Counties. The Center also offers drug treatment and helps inmates overcome substance abuse through aftercare and NA/AA programs. The North Alabama Community Work Center is classified as a minimum custody facility.
